My name is Mackenzie Steuart. I will be turning 16 soon. My biological father, Jeff Cox, left my mother before I was born. I have always wanted to meet him. If anyone can help me, or if anyone knows a Jeff Cox, please contact me. I would love to have any help that I can get... Please.

Please, listen to me before you continue your search. First of all, I want you to know that although I am much older than you are right now I was once in your shoes. I never knew my father, never even knew his name until I was 11, carried another mans name on my birth certificate. I never even saw a picture. I was lied to and deceived for many years. Technology wasn't like it is now back when I was your age and I am now very thankful for that.
I searched on and off for many years thinking I would never find him. I think I was more afraid of rejection than anything. Time and lifes circumstances held off my search along with I didn't have any money for a private investigator. Now, in short, I used my computer and dug for ever going to any "free" people search site I could find. I kept notes of the sites and cross referenced with other sites. I basically only had a first and last name and an approximate age. My father has a very common first name of today that wasn't so common back when he was born. So you can imagine I ran across many. Anyway, the site that helped me isn't 100 percent accurate but it did help me. Although much information can be crossed referenced with other sites too and try to keep your costs down. The site that helped me find him was www.intelius.com........also use www.zabasearch.com........ Much of the information is collected from public records like utility companies, subscriptions, change of address, phone records, credit inquiries, etc. You younger girls, be very careful and if I knew then what I know now I would be very happy to keep NOT KNOWING. We females think we are somehow not connected with our whole selves when our fathers are not a part of the equation. Believe me, in many cases, it is for the best. I have cut off contact with my father and whats worse is I thought I was lost before I found him and now its more like a death of a close family member. Be careful and good luck in your search. I pray you find all you are looking for and even better. Go into this being realistic and throw out those idealistic dreams. Peace, Sue |
